Oilers star seemingly dismisses Arturs Silovs' performance in Game 3

A goaltender making more than 40 saves in winning a Stanley Cup Playoffs game is quite a feat.

But Edmonton Oilers star Leon Draisaitl has a different take on the performance of Vancouver Canucks goalie Arturs Silovs on Sunday night.

Silovs stopped 42 shots in the Canucks' 4-3 win over the Oilers, putting Vancouver up 2-1 in the Western Conference second-round playoff series. Edmonton also hit at least three goalposts during the game.

"Post is not good goaltending," Draisaitl told the media after Sunday night's contest. "We can certainly do a better job of bearing down and capitalizing on our looks."

Draisaitl hit one of those posts and had a goal and an assist.

But Silovs had an unintended but effective comeback for Draisaitl when he addressed the media.

When asked about a save on Draisaitl, the Latvian native replied "Which one?"

Later Silovs said that he genuinely did not know which save the reporter was referring to in the question.

Silovs is Vancouver's third goalie and was forced into action when starter Thatcher Demko and backup Casey DeSmith were both injured in the Canucks' first-round series against the Nashville Predators. Since taking over, Silovs has four wins in six appearances with a .908 save percentage and 2.66 goals-against average.

Draisaitl did accomplish something on Sunday night.

The goal and assist gave him 18 points (seven goals and 11 assists) to surpass teammate Connor McDavid for the playoffs scoring lead. McDavid - who was blanked on Sunday - has 17 points.
