Maple Leafs Prospect Easton Cowan’s Playoff Success Continues
David Kirouac-USA TODAY Sports

The London Knights’ performance during the Ontario Hockey League playoffs has been impressive. In fact, so far the team has been perfect. Their record has been flawless, and they have won eight straight games.

Thus far, their consecutive sweeps against the Flint Firebirds and the Kitchener Rangers show that they are a team in top form and are riding a wave of confidence and teamwork. Interestingly, the Knights’ ability to win key games without key contributions from standout players like Easton Cowan speaks volumes about their depth, strength, and coaching strategies.

Of Course, Maple Leafs Fans Are Interested in Easton Cowan

Cowan, who has turned out to be a promising young talent for the Toronto Maple Leafs since being selected in the first round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft, had been on an amazing point streak. Interestingly, although his team has been winning handily, this remarkable point streak ended during Game 3 against the Kitchener Rangers.

However, despite Cowan’s quiet night, the team’s win underscores that the Knights do not rely solely on a single player. Instead, they operate as a unit. This quality will be critical as they advance deeper into the playoffs, particularly as they prepare to face the Saginaw Spirit or the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds series in the Western Conference final.

For Maple Leafs Fans, It’s Another Chance to See Their Prize Prospect in Action

For Cowan, the playoffs are an excellent chance to develop his game further under playoff pressure. Given that he might be playing with a perennial playoff team in the Maple Leafs as early as next season, this experience will be valuable when he jumps to the NHL.

Maple Leafs fans should expect Cowan to bounce back and contribute more significantly to his team’s collective effort. If he can, the Knights could be the team to beat in this year’s OHL playoffs.
