One of the best defensive backs in Bears franchise history will announce their Day 2 NFL draft pick
Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

A lot of excitement is surrounding the Chicago Bears today with the team set to make two selections in the Top-10 of the 2024 NFL Draft.

While the excitement is warranted, with a new quarterback and blue-chip prospect making their way to Chicago, Day 2 of the draft will have some excitement of its own.

The Bears will be having a legendary guest announcing the team's third round pick on Friday in former All-Pro defensive back Charles Tillman.

The Bears are currently scheduled to have the 75th overall pick in the third round, barring any trades, and it will be the team's third of four picks in the entire draft.

A former Day 2 pick himself in the 2003 NFL draft, Tillman played for 12 of his 13 seasons in Chicago. Tillman was named first-team All-Pro in 2012 after recording 3 interceptions returned for a touchdown and a league-high 10 forced fumbles. Tillman was affectionately known for his trademark "Peanut Punch" that forever changed the way defensive backs attack the ball carrier to create a turnover.

Tillman is the Bears' all-time leader in defensive touchdowns and third all-time in interceptions. His 42 forced fumbles is 8 more than the next closest Bears' player.

Tillman will be a part of a wide range of NFL legends and active players who are set to announce draft picks for their respective teams during the second and third round. It's going to be a blast to see which name Tillman reads off for the Bears tomorrow.

Other former players with Chicago ties announcing picks on Day 2 will include Muhsin Muhammad, who will announce the Panthers' second and third-round picks, and Anthony “Spice” Adams, who will announce the 49er's second and third-round picks.
