3 Twins in updated MLB top-100 prospect rankings
USA TODAY Sports

The Twins have two top-20 prospects in MLB's latest top-100 prospect rankings.

Walker Jenkins, Minnesota's 2023 first-round pick, debuts as the 16th best prospect in baseball. Jenkins is 9-for-21 with a homer and six RBI through his first five games as a pro.

Last year's first-round pick Brooks Lee comes in just two spots behind Jenkins at No. 18. Lee was recently called up to Triple-A St. Paul where he's 4-for-22 with four RBI in five games with the Saints. With Double-A Wichita this season, the shortstop was slashing .292/.365/.476 with 11 homers and 61 RBI.

Lee made a four-spot jump from the previous rankings done in June, while outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez jumped up ten places to No. 53.

Rodriguez, 20, is currently with Single-A+ Cedar Rapids where he has a .226/.394/.442 slash line with 14 home runs and 44 RBI in 77 games.

Minnesota's updated top 30 has just four players currently playing in St. Paul (Lee, righty Simeon Woods-Richardson, shortstop Austin Martin and second baseman Yunior Severino) and just three at Double-A Wichita (righties Marco Raya and David Festa, and shortstop Tanner Schobel).

Charlee Soto, the 34th overall pick in the 2023 draft by the Twins, rounds out the organization's top five prospects. The top five:

  1. Walker Jenkins
  2. Brooks Lee
  3. Emmanuel Rodriguez
  4. Marco Raya
  5. Charlee Soto

Jenkins is the second highest-rated prospect in the AL Central, just one spot behind Tigers outfielder Max Clark. Detroit has four players in the top 100, including two in the top 30. Cleveland also has four in the top 100, though none higher than No. 52. Chicago is tied with Minnesota with three prospects making the list, with their highest peaking No. 17.

Kansas City and Houston were the lone organizations without a prospect in MLB's top 100.
