Yup, I'm still alive! It's been a rough five days or so, but I made it through! i hope everyone's been doing well, I know i've been crazy busy, but it's all been fun, and I've DEFINITELY got some stories to tell.
Well, it all started last Wednesday when me and my boy Joey Walters landed in LA. We got there at 10am (a 530am flight from Baltimore, with oen stop, easily the worst decision I've made in a couple months). We got there with plenty of time to kick it and shop a bit before going to the Jutin Timberlake concert that night. We bounced around to a few different spots and did a little shopping. We actually saw Chris Brown, and we've been having a debate about it ever since. Now, for starters, I'm a HUGE Chris Brown fan, I think the kid is disgustingly talented. He and two of his boys were walking down Sunset doing some shopping, and we walked right by him. I was happy to see he was a normal sized dude, so often these performers are like 5 ft tall. Either way, the day was great just walking around and being out West, it's really starting to grow on me. After shopping, it was right to the gym to get a work out in before heading out to dinner with an old buddy and his roomate. Justin killed it at the concert again, it was definitely fun to watch as usual. It actually got me to thinking if these performers ever get tired of being on tour. I think he said it was his 101st concert of the tour and I can't imagine doing the same routine over and over and over again. I mean as athletes, we play a lot of games, but every game is different. This cat just put on the same exact concert with the same exact songs over 100 times! I mean I can see how you would kind of feed off the energy of a crowd, but I feel like you've GOT to get sick of singing the same joints over and over again. Just my opinion. Either way, it was another GREAT concert.
The Next morning, it was off to Vegas, and in all honesty, that's got to be one of the worst drives in the world. For starters, people are out of their minds and for some reason think they are Jeff Gordon trying to win a race and are driving at obsurd speeds (Including my boy Joe). And two, it's in the middle of the dessert, so there is NOTHING at all to look at. We could only listen to Kanye's new joint so many times before getting sick of it (and since it was a rental car, we didn't have any other cd's). I debated hopping in the back and watching a DVD, but I definitely would have fallen asleep.
Anyway, when we got to Vegas, we had to head right to Sling It Lacrosse (a lacrosse specialty store that sells my K18 equipment line, along with other STX products (the company both Joe and I are sponsored by)) for an autograph session. It was a lot of fun, and a lot of GREAT kids came through, so it was a nice start to the Vegas trip.
Now, I'm not a huge gambler, so I wasn't terribly concerned with killing money at the tables, however, going out in general will get you in serious trouble financially! I'm all for heading out a few nights with the fella's and having a good time, but there are these dudes that claim they are 'hooking you up,' when in reality, you're paying for exactly what your getting. This dude the first night claimed he was hooking us up with a limo, and a table in VIP, which was great and all, but the cost of it was OUT OF CONTROL! Pretty much they convince you your getting a deal by giving you one thing free, and jacking up the price of everything else. The joke of the weekend wtih the fellas was 'yo man, I got this guy whose giving us the hook up, 10g's for the limo son, but we've got free admission to the club..' It was definitely a fun couple of days, and I had a great time playing in the tournament, but I'm pretty sure I never want to get "hooked up," again.
Now on to the worst part of the trip! I can't figure out why I have so many air plane stories, it could be because I fly so much, I've got no idea. Either way, on the plane ride back from Vegas, all I wanted to do was get home SO badly. I'd been on the road for about 5 days (not terribly long, but in Vegas, it seemed like a year) and all I wanted to do was hop on that plane, fall asleep and wake up in Baltimore. So, after everyone boards, some rowdy Browns fans had already had too much to drink, started yelling at people and using profanity, and had to be escorted off by security. After those two left, their friends who were still on the plane through a fit, and had to be escorted off as well. The whole time that was going on, there was a dude getting sick in the bathroom, literally screaming, it was one of the worst noises I've ever heard. So, when he came out completely drenched from sweating and face all red and puffy, he was escorted right off the plane as well. At this point we're running about 40 minutes late, people are complaning about missing their connecting flights, babies are crying, it smells awful in there, and we've got a good 5 hours before we get anywhere near Baltimore. It was an awful flight, but at the end of the day, I made it home safely, and in time for Prison Break at 8pm, so there's no need to complain I guess.
This week should be fairly laid back, which is good because I don't think I could take too much more traveling, as least to places like Vegas.
Anyone check Randy Moss out again this weekend? Yup, still killin it, no big deal. I'm gonna pick up a new Jersey tonight after working out.
Well, that's all I for now...Oh yeah, to all you haters out there, stop hating on LT and Reggie Bush, they'll both turn the whole thing around (yup, I'm talking to you walters).....
That's it for now, more to come later, and keep your eye out for that first video...
