What's crackin' YB?! I'm sitting on my flight across the country back to LA from Championship weekend in Annapolis. I'm actually sitting next to Maya (the singer), but I haven't come up with anything to say to her yet...I'll keep you posted though..
Anyway, I wanted to write and give a recap of the summer as it's definitely been a crazy one. For starters it was a very disappointing season with my injury with out a doubt. I've never really been seriously injured before, and it's jut as much mental as it is physical. As you know, I got hurt in the 2nd quarter of the 3rd game of the season and wasn't the same since. I think I missed 7 games total. I am very proud of my team and what we were able to accomplish this year with out a doubt, I just wish I could have done more to contribute. It felt great to get back into a flow on Saturday in the Semi finals, but on Sunday, we weren't able to play our best game and give Toronto credit, they did what they needed to to get a W. The tough thing is I basically missed an entire season, so I'm still ready to play! Fortunately, we've got USA training camp try outs coming up late September, so I've got to stay healthy, continue to rehab my hammy and get ready for those. I'm confident that our Denver squad will be back next year and ready to get this thing done. It was nice to play in Baltimore and have my family, girlfriend and close friends at the games as well. Always nice to play in front of the hometown fans.
I can say I'm certain that my body wasn't ready for two games back to back, thats for sure. As I'm sitting here on my flight, I feel like I got jumped last night in my sleep! Every bone in my body is killing me! No matter how hard I rehabbed and tried to put myself in game shape, there's no substitute for an actual game. muscle
We had another great cam season as well which was nice. It's always nice to be able to give back to the game thats done so much for me, work with all of my close friends and meet some cool kids along the way. Outside of the 3 broken windows at our Michigan camp, things were GREAT!
I've got some really exciting projects on the horizon that I'm looking forward to sharing with you all when the time is right! Don't want to leak too much yet as some final details are still being worked out!
The new K18 line drops this fall! I handed out a bunch of the new K18 t-shirts this weekend and kids seem to be pretty fired up about it, which in turn makes me all fired up! If you haven't seen it yet, be sure to check out the New K18 commercial and the equipment on youtube!
I'll be back out in LA this week just getting some things organized and trying to slow down for a few days. Got a few buddies from Baltimore coming out so it should be nice to catch up with them for a few days!
