Been gone for a minute....
Ayo! For starters....I'm SORRY I haven't been on recently, but I've been up in Portland for the past 4 days or so at the Nike Campus! It's been a whole lot of fun, and I've got lots of stories to tell, but I do apologize for not getting on sooner, I couldn't get the internet in my room up and going. And for some reason, I couldn't get on to my YB account from my cell phone, so I've been all jammed up. Anyway, I'm back now, so here we go...
I hope everyone's had a good past couple of days, I know my week has been ridiculous! Oh yeah, before I get too in depth with all my stuff, go download the "I'm so hood remix"...whose got the best verse? I think I'm going with Luda, haven't heard my man kill it like that in a minute.
So, I flew out to Portland Monday morning (when I usually write my blog), and I picked up a few magazines at the airport before jumpin on the plane. Poor Britney huh? Things just keep getting worse, I hope she figures it out. More importantly, anyone seen the new Vibe? Weezy on the cover? If your a fan, pick it up. Inside it's got Weezy's 77 (yup, you read that correctly) of 2007. That's ridiculous!! 77 songs?! The kid is doing his thing. Also, I didn't realize how hot his verse was on Nicole's new song (he fills in for T.I), check that out if you get a chance as well.
Back to the trip...so I arrived at the Nike Campus on Monday and it was amazing pulling up. Just walking around that place looking at all the great athletes pictures hanging on the wall was incredible. I had a few meetings with marketing and advertising, but for the most part, I got to walk around and really take it all in. For an athlete, I'd argue there's no better place on earth. One of my favorite parts of campus is definitely the TIger Wood's building. They've got EVERYTHING in there, it's absolutely crazy. Video's of Tiger doing his thing running all day as well as all kinds of crazy memorabilia to look at. Tiger is truly one of the greatest athlete's this world has ever seen, and he deserves everything he's gotten.
I worked out everyday at the Lance Armstrong Center which was perfect. Just looking up at the walls and seeing all these great pictures of Lance winning tours, and overcoming so much adversity makes you want to work harder. As far as a work out environment goes, it's flawless.
While the campus, and different facilities were VERY impressive, what impressed me most about Nike was definitely the employee's. Everyone I encountered was so smart, positive, and motivated. The atmosphere was contagious. The people out there LOVE their jobs and work very hard at being the best in the bizz. It's a very laid back, casual atmosphere, which seem's like it makes for a GREAT working environment. Everyone seemed very comfortable around each other and very receptive to each other's idea's. It was awesome to be in an advertising room and get a glimpse at how creative and talented this people really are. There's a reason Nike's been on top for so long, and it was awesome to get a up close and personal look at the process.
I headed over to the Nike factory store on Tuesday for a little shopping spree and tore the place down! I definitely took care of my family and my boy's, but I also DEFINITELY picked up some fresh new gear for myself! It only took me a little over two hours, but I think I got all the hottest stuff in there.
I'm all behind on all my TV show's this week (I'm all messed up in terms of time). So I got nothing on Prison Break or any of my other show's, but I plan on watching all of them when I get back into Baltimore tomorrow. Oh yeah, anyone seen the second Fantastic Four? Don't! As usual, I bought it (I know, idiot), and it was wacccck. I can't help myself when it comes to super hero's, I had to do it. But outside of Silver Surfer, the movie definitely didn't have too much going on.
I've got to pack up my hotel room and get my bags ready to go in the morning. I'm flying back to the right coast and I'll check in on Friday with some more stories and good stuff.
Almost forgot, congrats to Ray Lewis, Bart Scott, and Mark Clayton on the win. It's a W, and we'll take it.
I'll get at you all in a day or two.
KH
