Happy New Year
Happy New Year Year Yardbarker family, I hope you all had a happy and healthy one.
Mine was great, it was exactly what I needed. We had a little party at a spot in downtown Baltimore, and it was incredible to be able to bring all of my family and friends together. I'm very fortunate in that the people who have been closest to me since I was 4 years old are still some of my closest and best friends. All of my people were able to come in town and bring in the new year together, so it was perfect. Watching my parents tear up the dance floor was definitely a high light of the night as well.
I spoke briefly about my Christmas in my last blog, but my favorite thing by far was watching my niece Sage tear through all her stuff. She still seem's to have a lot more fun with the wrapping paper and boxes then she does with the actual presents, but I'll take it, as long as she's happy. Santa hooked me up with a PSP and I'm not sure I've ever played a game so much. I scopped up NBA Live, Tony Hawk, Fifa, and a bunch of other games...though most of my time is spent playing NBA live. It's been great in my traveling the past 4 or 5 day's, it's given me something to do on the plane.
Speaking of which, I had about the worst trip ever two days ago. Me, Joe Walters, Maxx (my cousin) and my girlfriend Kate flew into Phoenix because Joey and I have one of our camps here from the 3rd-5th. We landed in AZ after a day of traveling around 9, and didn't get settled at the hotel until around 11pm or so. One of our buddies had a camp in Vegas on the 2nd, and we told him we would come by for an hour or so on the 2nd to say hello to the kids and put on a little shooting demonstration. Well, we assumed the car ride from Phoenix to Vegas was something like 3 hours or something (not too sure why). Turn's out, it was a little over 5. So, we woke up early the morning of the 2nd (after getting in late) drove 5 hours (on AWFUL boring back roads), did a half an hour talk, then bounced! It was definitely good to see and help out our boy, but that was a LONG, terribly planned trip. We did get to stop by UNDEFEATED, one of our favorite stores on the way out of town, and I scooped up a hot hoody, so I was content, at least for 5 minutes or so after buying it. We ended up getting back to AZ around 1045pm, then woke up early this morning, and started camp. Kids today were a lot of fun, but it was definitely a long past couple of days.
I think we're actually going to to go to the Sun's game tonight, which should be a lot of fun. I'm a huge Steve Nash fan, so it'll be cool to catch him live.
Anybody seen the last Spider man? I saw it fo rthe first time a few day's ago, and I thought it was pretty wack, I'd be interested to know what other people thought about it. I know I'm a bit late, but for some reason I never made it around to checking it out when it was in the theatre, so I had to check it out on DVD.
Oh yeah, anyone played that Wii Play game? With all of the sports? There's a game where you've got to hit the balloon's, then coke can's, then targets, and then it gets strange. Now I'm not one to hate, but whoever came up with the idea of aliens picking the kids up and taking them away seem's a bit sick to me. Don't get it twisted, I definitely enjoy the game, and I do my best to save those kids, but me and my boys were playing the other and I remember thinking that's a pretty crazy idea to come up with.
I recieved an e-mail recently asking me who my favorite college players ever (and today) are and why. So, in my next blog, I will answer the question, and I'm guessing it'll be a long one.
Oh yeah, good new's, finally got my video camera up and running again, so I'll be sure to start getting those puppies rollin.
As always, any questions or topics you want discussed, feel free to holler at me and let me know.
I'll talk to you all soon.

Kyle, as a fellow Marylander you probably forgot how small Maryland is compared to the squarish states out west. Don't sweat it.
As for Wii Play, the shooting gallery game is my favorite game, and I really never gave much thought to the UFOs. I guess since I made my guy look like me, I never thought of it as taking children away. I just wanted to protect myself from the anal probe. That's some good motivation. -
Me and my friend were discussing your shooting technique. We are both of the opinion that your cradle to "set" the ball kind of puts your stick upside down, and you shoot from there. Would it be possible to maybe get a slow-mo of this motion? Shoot me an e-mail if you can. happyhour6221@gmail.com
Happy New Years, and say hey to Greg Bice for me from everybody at Middle Creek, since you'll be playing with him now I guess. -
man I've been on that NBA Live thing for sure... NBA basketball is back. I've actually got about a million questions about spreading lacrosse at the youth level (the lacrosse thing hasn't exactly taken off in Montana yet)... if you get a chance shoot me an email at HiLineLax@aol.com. Happy New Year!
