Tailgating at the USC/Ohio State Football Game
YB! What's good? I hope everyone had a relaxing weekend! This was the first weekend in at least 4 or 5 months that I had NOTHING lacrosse related to do, and it was a needed break for sure. I got to play some beach volleyball, got some surfing in, played a little football on the beach, went to the USC/Ohio State football game, and laid around ALL day yesterday and watched football. It was absolutely perfect. My roommate Brett is from Ohio, and if any of you guys know people from Ohio, we can all agree that these cats are absolutely crazy about Ohio State football. So, with the big game last weekend, these dudes came out of the woodwork! Brett had like 10 buddies fly in Thursday night, and Hermosa beach was completely taken over by Ohio State fans, as was our place. On Saturday morning, we took a stretched escalade limo up to USC, as it didn't make sense to take 5 cars, or even 5 cabs. It was a fun ride for sure, but I was heated because I made a hot CD, but only the first two songs burned. So we pretty much are all sick of Cookie Jar (Gym Class Heroes) and Live your Life (TI, Rhianna) with those being the only two songs working on the CD. Either way, we got up to campus, went to a tailgate with a bunch of Brett's high school friends, and then headed down to the field for the game. Brett and I were literally right on the sideline for warm ups, and the entire game, so it was fun to watch these dudes in action. The linebacker from USC Rey Maualuga is one of the most imposing dudes on a field I've seen. This cat literally seems like he's trying to send a message every time he hits someone. Watching all four linebackers in that game was incredible. Ohio State's James Laurinaitis and Marcus Freeman and USC's Rey Maualuga and Brian Cushing are all up for the Butkus award, and watching them fly around made me understand why. Those dudes are absolute animals. Now, I'm not going to act like I know college football too well, but I thought it was going to be a little closer of a game. I definitely didn't think Ohio State would get smacked the way they did. But oh well, it was definitely a fun experience being so close to the game. Brett was heated because Amare Stoudemire was standing right next to us in the front, and clearly, no one could see over him! Definitely missed a good 10 plays during the game not being able to see around that cat. I think we're actually going to go to a few more games this fall, so I'll be sure to give you a heads up. If you haven't seen Meet the Parents recently, watch that ASAP. I remember it being hilarious like 4 or 5 years ago, but it's SO much funnier now. I watched it on Thursday and I was in absolute tears for the majority of the movie. I don't know if it's because I'm a little older now, and I can imagine how awkward all of the situations in the movie would be in real life. Please watch it again, you won't be disappointed. I've started to put together my thoughts on the season, and will post that later this week. Here's a little video I shot from the game on Saturday, check it out! Have a great day! Kyle
