Summer Time!!!
What's good YB?! I hope all is well with you guys! Sorry for the delay in writing! Been bouncing around a bit and trying to get this hamstring healthy.
It's crazy living out here because I feel like I completely lose track of what month it is! The weather never changes and since I'm not in school anymore, I was completely surprised today when I looked at the calender and it said June 17th! Time is FLYING! It's out of control.
I decided to take last weekend off again to make sure my hammy was 100% before I stepped back out on the field. But, with that being said, I'm planning on going back to work this weekend against Toronto in Denver! I need to put in extra time this week and make sure my legs are ready to go, but I'm definitely feeling healthy for the first time in 3 weeks. We had a big W over a talented LI team in Denver last Saturday night, which moves us to 4-1. It's a great start to the season, but we've got to continue to improve every week so come crunch time at the end of the season, we're playing our best lacrosse.
On Monday, we had the first Nike Elite Lacrosse camp of the summer and it went really well! Had a bunch of talented kids that worked as hard as the could for 4 hours straight! I wish these events existed when I was in high school! A FREE event where I could go and get trained by top Nike trainers, and compete against the best kids in my area? Definitely would have loved it.
I finally bit the bullet and went up north with my girlfriend and bounced around a bit. For the most part, I stay away from Hollywood because I can't stand traffic on the 405, but we went for it! Me and Mer checked out the Getty Museum, Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, and then a great dinner at the Geisha House on Hollywood Blvd. It was definitely a lot of fun, and I may even make another trip up that way later this month.
I saw He's Just Not That Into You on my flight back from Denver a few days ago and though I try not to hate on movies, I'm not sure I've been that annoyed watching something in quite some time. I actually had to take off my head phones at the end of the movie because I was so frustrated! Pumped to see the new Denzel and Travota tonight though, and even more excited for Transformers next Wednesday.
That's about all I got for now. If any of you guys are the the Lancaster PA area, I've got my first Playmaker evening camp there starting next Mon-Wed! Check out www.playmakerlacrosse.com to register!
Oh yeah, shout out to my boy Stephen Brooks...keep your head up man, you'll be back healthy in no time! (Broke his foot last week in his game in Chicago).
Talk soon!
Kyle
