LXM Pro Tour
What’s going on YB!! Hope the week is going well!
As I mentioned last week, I wanted to write and fill you guys in on the new project I’m involved in out here in L.A.! It’s called the LXM PRO Tour and I couldn’t be more excited about it! LXM 949 (SoCal, first stop of the tour) is the first lacrosse event that will highlight 40 of the best players in the world, and be followed by a HUGE performance by Akon! As lacrosse players, our main goal is to continue to push our sport in the right direction towards the other mainstream sports! The first of these events will be in Orange County on November 21st (LXM 949).
There are so many different components through out the day that will bring in different crowds to get a look at our great sport, and hopefully create some new lacrosse fans! For starters, there will be an on field casting call sponsored by Sports Studio Casting, in search for young athletic actors to be cast in upcoming Hollywood productions. Shortly after that, there will be a lacrosse clinic powered by Team STX (Joe Walters, Anthony Kelly, Sean Morris, and Stephen Brooks) where all kinds of new skills will be taught, there will be cool give-a-ways, contest, raffles, poster signing and all kinds of other cool stuff! After the clinic, there will be an MCLA game between Chapman and UCSB, which will definitely be an entertaining game! Both teams have a lot of talented players and will certainly put on a good show. Once the club game is over, the Pro’s are taking the field! We’ve got some of the top talent in the world to come showcase their talent and compete against each other! Guys like Mickey Jarboe, John Walker, Jake Byrne, Mikey Powell and lots more! When the Pro game is over, the night will be capped with a BLOW OUT CONCERT by Akon! It’s going to be an AWESOME DAY in Organe County! Check out www.LXMPRO.com for more information!
Thus far, it’s been amazing being a part of the whole creative process, and then to actually see it all coming together in the past few weeks has been incredible. I truly do believe this event will help to push our game in the right direction and force the country to recognize what a great sport we’re all apart of! I’ve gotten a lot of comments on my Facebook wall or twitter account with people liking the concept, and some people thinking it’s bad for our sport. Bottom line, anytime you start something new, there are going to be people who dislike what you’re doing, or hate on it for no apparent reason. But the people who say this is bad for our sport, or will set our sport back, clearly don’t really love the sport of lacrosse or, are just plain old haters (which I love, keep it up). We’re a group of guys who absolutely LOVE the sport of lacrosse and are doing everything we can to help make our sport more garner more national attention, and help to brand the best personalities in our sport! By combining music, a talent search, and some of the best lacrosse players in the world, we think we’re going to be able to create some new lacrosse fans and create some amazing events across the country! Add the fact that our first event is in a market like Los Angeles, and we’re going to hopefully create a great buzz for our sport!
I’ll attach a few of the flyers for the event, and as I said earlier, check out LXMPro.com for details of the event!
I’ll talk to you guys later this week!
