Game Week!
YB! What's good?!
I hope the week is going well!
I can finally fill you in on my great weekend! I couldn't do it before because I didn't want to ruin the surprise! So, last Thursday night, my girlfriend and I, as well as my sister and my other family members flew back into Baltimore and surprised my mama for her birthday! We hung out at my parents house on Thursday night with all of the family, and then on Friday (my sister Kia's birthday as well), we had a surprise dinner with all of my moms closest friends and our family at a restaurant downtown. It was a GREAT weekend and one I think in retrospect I needed. Often we get so caught up in our own lives and what we have going on that we forget that there is NOTHING more important in this world than family and spending time with the people you love, and I got 3 straight days of that. My parents, my siblings, my cousins, my god mother, and our closest friends all came together for a few days and it was absolutely incredible.
After the amazing few days with my family, I flew out to Denver early on Sunday morning to play in our final inter-squad scrimmage which was a lot of fun. It was great to get on the field with both Langtry and Simms who are two midfielders that I've learned a lot from over the years. Both had been playing indoor up until Sunday, so it was nice to get on the field with those guys. We played for about 3 quarters and got up and down the field a bit which was nice, and I definitely needed it. I did a lot of flying in a 3 day period, so it was good to get stretch the legs and get moving a bit. We took some pictures and hung out with our season ticket holders for about a half an hour after the game, then headed right back to the airport to fly back to L.A.!
We've got out first game this weekend against Chicago and it'll definitely be a tough match up! I can't wait to run out on to the field in Denver and actually not get booed this time (in theory, I guess it could still happen)! I've usually been running out of the visitors tunnel, but it'll be nice to play in front of all of the loyal Denver fans, and actually be on their good side! We've got a great group of dudes and every time we get to play together the chemistry gets better and better. This weekend will be a good test to see where we are. With 4 teams folding, the talent level of the MLL is as high as it's ever been, and it's definitely going to be the hardest year to win the MLL championship, but we're up for the challenge, and Saturday is the first step.
HUGE game for Hop this weekend, jumping in the ring with UVA again. Should be interesting to see how they come out. It's going to be a tough match up, but I think Hop could win in a close one if they stick to their game plan. It's going to be tough to stop all of the offensive weapons that UVA has, so we'll see how it goes.
Other than that, I don't have too much else going on, on my end. Just trying to get some work done and get organized for the CRAZY summer thats about to start this weekend. I saw a sneak peak at the new K!8 commercial and it's HOT! Whenever I'm allowed to, I will most definitely put it up here!
Need to go get a run in and shoot a bit, but I'll get at you all later.
Have a GREAT Wednesday,
Kyle
