Final Four
What's good YB!?! I hope the weekend went well!
Unfortunately, we lost our first game to Chicago last weekend in front of a GREAT Denver crowd (10k). This year in the MLL, every game is going to be a 1 or 2 goal game, as every team is talented, and on any given night, anybody can beat anybody. I enjoyed playing in Denver and I think it's going to be a great year. We've got to play with a little more emotion and cut out some sloppy turn overs and we'll be all set. Our next game is this Friday night in Boston! So, if any of you guys are in the Boston area, or heading to Boston for the final four, be sure to come by on Friday night (22nd) and check us out against the Boston Cannons!
Speaking of the final four, how crazy were those game last weekend? I'll be the first to say, I was heart broken when I saw what happened to my Hop boys. I didn't get to watch the game live, but I was getting text messages all game long. When I got back to my place last night, it was actually replaying on ESPN U. I wasn't happy with what I saw, but that move Shamel Bratton put on the long pole behind the goal in the 3rd quarter was cooooooooold blooooooded! It's scary how good he could be once he reaches his full potential. He's had a HUGE year, but I wasn't thrilled to see what he did to my boys.
At the beginning of the year I predicted the final four to be Cornell, Hop, UVA and Cuse, so I was off by one. I haven't watched all of these teams play too much this year, but after watching that UVA/Hop game last night, I've got to believe there's a good chance the boys at UVA could run away with this thing. I'd like to see Seibold and the Cornell boys get in there and make a run at it. I've always been a fan of Coach Tambroni, he's one of the best coaches our sport has seen and teaches his kids the right way to do things.
I'll actually be heading to the games on Saturday, so if you get a chance, come by and say hello! Also (and more importantly), they will be selling the NEW K18 Head at the FInal Four!!!!!! I'll attach a pic here, but if you're in the market for a new head, it's definitely worth checking out! We bumped up the release date to make sure we had it at the Final Four and we're fired up to show it to the lacrosse world during the biggest weekend in our sport! A lot of people who have seen pictures have asked what the turtle is on the throat of the stick. The turtle is actually the tattoo I have on my left leg and it's a family symbol. Turtles are symbols for good luck in a lot of different cultures, and in my family they are EVERYWHERE. If you go to my parents house in Baltimore there are over 50 or 60 turtles all over the place from little statues, to soap, to pictures, to toys for the dog, all kinds of stuff! Either way, family in the most important thing in life, and STX helped me to find a way to incorporate that into the new head.
That's about all I've got for now, but I'm going to throw up a video later in the week reminding you all about the K18 head release this weekend!!!!
Have a great week!
Kyle
