Check out the new Cover of Inside Lacrosse Magazine this month!!
I wrote the first half of this blog on a plane two days ago, and the second half today sitting on my deck! It's raining in LA, and has been for two days now!!! What is going on?!?!?! Anyway, lets get into it...
Well, it’s been an absolutely crazy few weeks, so I’ll start by apologizing for the delay in writing! Two weeks off just isn’t acceptable!
Anyway, I’m getting back into LA tonight (Monday, 10/18). I couldn’t be more excited to be home for a few days! I’ve spent the last 9 days down in Palm Coast Florida preparing for the LXM Pro event that took place there last Saturday. I had an absolute blast playing! There are very few things I love more than playing the sport of lacrosse and having the opportunity to compete, so it was GREAT to be back out on a field banging heads with dudes! Got to battle my old Hopkins teammate Brendan Skakandi, who is long pole that guarded me everyday for two years back at Hopkins! Was just like old times beating each other up, and I loved it. Got to play with my boy Chazz Woodson again and I forgot how athletic he is! He had 2 absolutely CRAZY goals doing an Air Gait with his left hand once, and his right hand once. Unfortunately, my team, Team Monster, lost our first game of the LXM Pro Tour 10-9, but we didn’t deserve to win. Team NB played harder and made plays when they had to. Sean Morris, Matt Alrich and Greg Peyser all played well, Brett Moyer played lights out down low, and their goalie Alex Hewitt made some ridiculous saves. The series is now at 2-1 (we’re winning), but we need to get back to winning in San Diego in January!
We stayed at the Hammock Resort in Palm Coast FL and I can honestly say I went on the waterslide at the pool there about 100 times through out the week. I know all the other players had a blast there as well. From the ridiculous pool set up (5 different pools, hot tubs, indoor and outdoor, water slide, and more), golf course and 3 bed rooms suites overlooking the ocean that everyone was in, guy’s had a great time. The game was the most competitive LXM Pro game I’ve played in, and guys started to get after each other a bit, so I can’t wait to suite up and play against that team again in January, cause I know there’s some bad blood! Love it.
I’m playing in the Las Vegas tournament in a few weeks, so that’s should be exciting as well!
I don’t have much else new to report, outside of the fact that I’m LOVING Boardwalk Empire! What a show! There are a handful of great movies coming out this fall as well…and you all know how much I love movies!
NBA season starts up soon and I CAN’T wait! Speaking of hoops, played against Simeon Rice last night for 3 games in a row at the gym! Dude is HUGE! Was knocking people all over place, but, we split games! Looking forward to going at him again tomorrow if he’s at the gym!
Anyone going to be in the SF area this weekend? I’ll be up there going clinics all weekend long with Sling It! Come say hello!
Check out this picture from the LXM Pro game last weekend in Florida. Was happy I scored, because the landing was WACK.
So, I shot a few videos with Inside Lacrosse last week out here in LA, and here's a lil preview of one of them!
Without a doubt the smallest and tightest apparel I've ever worn. But, you can't argue with my jogging form.
Well, what's good YB?!?! Hope everyone has been doing well!
Who caught Boardwalk Empire on Sunday night? I absolutely LOVED IT! Thought it was really well done and looks like it's going to be a serious season. HBO is doing some serious things these days huh? Entourage, Hung, True Blood, and now Boardwalk Empire??? I'm loving it!
I made it to see The Town earlier this week and thus far this year it's been my favorite movie (other than Inception)!! It was out of control! All the actors/actresses killed it and I thought the story was incredible! Crazy that so many bank robbers come from that area in Boston! There were also a bunch of ridiculous previews for other movies that will be coming out this fall!
What did you guys think of Boardwalk Empire and The Town????
Check out this pic of my trainer (and former NFL player and Air Force captain) Chris Gizzi leading the Air Force Team out on to the field last Saturday!
If this doesn't get you going, I don't know what would!
Check out this view from the balcony of my cruise last week! It was ridiculous! More pics to come!
Check it out! Wale killed it at the LXM Pro event last weekend in Philly!
August 24th already!?!?! Time is literally flying by, it's out of control! Summer is almost over and it's been arguably my craziest summer yet! I haven't been back to my place in LA in a solid 6 weeks! Crazy right?! It's all good though, no complaints here, I get to do what I love on a daily basis, so I'm all smiles as usual.
I'm still in Baltimore right now, but heading to Philly Tuesday morning to promote LXM 610, which goes down Saturday Ag 28th (next Saturday), and I CAN'T WAIT to get back out on the field! I've been lucky this August and I've got to play competitive lacrosse almost ever weekend! So, to cap it off by playing in Philly in front of my family and friends, and watching Wale perform?! Incredible way to end the summer.
I went to see Lottery Ticket on opening night and it was absolutely hilarious! Not only was the movie hilarious but the previews for the other movies leading up to it looked GREAT! I've been talking about Takers all summer long, and that comes out this Friday which I'm excited about, but there were 3 or 4 other movies that I'm fired up about too!
Seen the Drake and Weezy "Miss Me" music video? If not, check it out!
Can't believe football season is about to start as well! Ravens have looked good in pre-season thus far, just can't wait to the regular season to start! I love waking up in LA on a Sunday morning and football is already on! Starts at 10AM out there!
It's been nice to be in Baltimore wit my family for a few weeks with out a doubt...walking the dog every morning, family dinners, ya can't beat it! But, I'm completely over the heat and humidity in Balto, got to take like 6 showers a day with the amount you sweat just walking outside! It'll definitely be nice to get back to the LA weather in 8 days or so!
That's about all I've got for now! Catch up soon!
Welp, I'm back in Baltimore and I'll tell you it's HOT!!!! I've been out west for almost 3 years now and I think I've gotten soft on both ends of the spectrum. I can't deal with it below 50 (I think thats freezing!), and once we get up in the 90's, I'm not having it! So, it's definitely taking some getting used to being back in Baltimore!
I got to play at Lake Placid last weekend which was AWESOME! It was my first trip to that tournament and I'll be going back there for years to come! I had an absolute blast. Me, Joey Walters, Maxx Davis and Evan Kay drove up there from Rochester on Friday to play and I had no idea Lake Placid was such a beautiful place! Definitely loved the small town feel to it. We played on a team called Graph-Tex and we won the tournament! Yup, got'um! We played well for the most part and definitely had a great team full of dudes who have played at the highest level. I got to play with Kevin Dougherty (Former Cuse Star) which was a lot of fun, and definitely nice to be on his team this time rather than have him put up 5G's on you and knock you out of the Final Four (did it to us my Jr year at Hopkins..). Jake Plunkett (also a Cuse star) crushed it for our team as well. It was great to get out and run around for 4 games. AND, the team had five black lacrosse players on it (Blaxers!!!). It was me, Maxx, Ev, Hakeen Lecky (incoming freshman at Cuse), and the homey Jovan Miller (current Cuse AA)!!! First time I've ever been on a team with five other black lacrosse players going to work, it was incredible to see. A few times we'd all be running on the same line together!
I'm back in Baltimore for the week working and working out! I shot at Hopkins today and it was SO hot outside, but I had to get a good session in, and it's always nice to be at Hopkins.
I'm playing in Ocean City this weekend, which is always a competitive tournament! It's always a nice weekend to get to the beach with the family as well, so I'm looking forward to it.
Not too much else going on with me, just patiently waiting for football season to start! Feeling like it's going to be a big one for the Ravens!
I can't wait to see the movie Takers, check out the trailer here! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SicGk3-bP58
Favorite some song right now is Right Above It by Weezy featuring Drake! If you haven't heard it, download it ASAP!
Check in again in a few days!
